We do not know, Suresh Prabhu, as a Rail Minister will continue or will have a last laugh, but we must heed on some of his tweets. He says that he worked very hard with his sweat and blood to nurture this railways organisation.
Suresh Prabhu may have worked hard, but he did not have a comprehensive and holistic vision regarding Indian railways. Fact is that these sort of persons never traveled much through trains, so they did not have much knowledge of ground reality. After coming to power, a person never finds a true perspective of problems, unless he directly faced it. What officers and surrounding persons provide briefings, Minister generally rely over them. Revival of Raiway was not the work of only the fund management or preparing some sort of project reports. Suresh Prabhi did not know, which areas of Railways had leakages, which areas were vulnerable, where was the revenue potential, where was the productivity constraints, where was the problem of integrity of Railways officials, where are the annomalies?
Though Prabhu is simple person, but despite this he was lucky that he got this ministry. He is neither a political heavy weigh, nor he has a solid vision regarding the governance of railways,which is such a big and topmost public dealing area of central government.
