Three safai workers got died inside sewage hole. It was such a horrific and brutaly tragedic event took place in Delhi. Can there be a bigger issue of social justice than this event. Can we have a bigger agitation over this than the agitations, which usually take place over reservation. It would not happen? Because there is no strong vested interest in this. In this 21st century of India, which has had impression of a technology savvy country, what is happening this? Even we do not have application of machines and related technology while cleaning sewage or culvert. It took 50 years, when we abolished carrying latrine over head and how will it take to stop manual handling of sewage holes?
In this country India, where inequality on all level is so sparse and poignant, we never became serious to eliminate this, only political posturing are being played, otherwise we have in numerous types of VIP culture operating everywhere in our country. In western world, sweeper and CEO have same status, but in India in the absence of intensive program over social empowerment, we are only playing politics of dalits, not the empowerment. Can we have 30 crores dalits as the president of India. But even without a dalit president, we can empower our 30 crore dalits, just to bring them in the mainstream of the country. In that case we may have dalit president on regular basis.
