UPA is culprit for not giving death sentence to Rajiv Gandhi's killer

Killers of Rajiv Gandhi were resisted from getting gallows as per the strategy of Sonia Gandhi, who had first priority to get the DMK's political support for the survival of UPA in place of giving death punishment to her husband's killer. So the UPA Govt. adopted the strategy of making the mercy petitions of many terrorist get lingered on. Ultimately Supreme court was forced to convert the death punishment into lifetime imprisonment, under those list Rajiv's killers were the prime beneficiaries
